    Mishary bin Rashid Alafasy is a Kuwaiti qāriʾ (reciter of the Quran), imam, preacher, and nasheed artist. He studied in the Islamic University of Madinah's College of Qur'an, specializing in the ten qira'at and tafsir. Alafasy has released nasheed albums. He usually recites in Arabic, but he has also recited nasheeds in English and French.

    Abdul Hadi bin Awang is a Malaysian politician and religious teacher who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Marang since October 1990, 7th President of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), an Islamist political party and a component party of Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition, since July 2002. He served as Leader of the Opposition from July 2002 to March 2004, Menteri Besar of Terengganu from December 1999 to March 2004 and Member of the Terengganu State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Ru Rendang from 1986 until 2018. At the international level, he formerly served as vice-president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars.

    Zahran Alloush was a Syrian Islamist leader who was the commander of Jaysh al-Islam (Army of Islam), a major component of the Islamic Front, of which he was the military chief, and was described as one of the most powerful persons in rebel-held Syria. He was killed in a joint Russian and Syrian airstrike on 25 December 2015 and was succeeded by Essam al-Buwaydhani as head of Jaysh al-Islam.
