    Jessikka Aro is a Finnish investigative reporter working for Finland's public service broadcaster Yle, specializing in Russia, extremism and information warfare. She is the author of the non-fiction books Putin's Trolls: On the Frontlines of Russia's Information War Against the World and Putin's World War. Due to her investigations of pro-Russian Internet trolls and their influence on public debates outside Russia's borders, she became the target of an international propaganda and hate speech campaign. This harassment led to three people being convicted in October 2018. Aro won the Bonnier Journalism Prize in 2016 for her work exposing Russian trolls on social media. In 2019, the U.S. Department of State awarded her the International Women of Courage Award, but the award was rescinded just before the ceremony. In June 2024, the U.S. Embassy in Finland recognized her work with the Ambassador Hickey Woman of Courage Award.

    Toimi Olavi Kankaanniemi is a Finnish politician, born in Tyrvää. Kankaanniemi was the Chairman of the Finnish Christian Democrats from 1989 to 1995. In 1994, he was a candidate for President of Finland, finishing ninth of eleven candidates. He served as a Member of the Finnish Parliament from 1987 to 2011.     Eeva Elisabeth Joenpelto, married name after 1945 Hellemann, was an award-winning Finnish novelist. Her writing is especially remembered for the Lohja tetralogy which depicted strong women.
