    Sebastián Francisco de Miranda y Rodríguez de Espinoza, commonly known as Francisco de Miranda ( Latin American Spanish: [fɾanˈsisko ðe miˈɾanda]), was a Venezuelan military leader and revolutionary who fought in the American Revolutionary War, the French Revolution and the Spanish American wars of independence. He is regarded as a precursor of South America's liberation from the Spanish Empire, and remains known as the "First Universal Venezuelan" and the "Great Universal American".

    Andrés de Jesús María y José Bello López was a Venezuelan humanist, diplomat, poet, legislator, philosopher, educator and philologist, whose political and literary works constitute an important part of Spanish American culture. Bello is featured on the old 2,000 Venezuelan bolívar and the 20,000 Chilean peso notes.

    José Gregorio Hernández Cisneros, O.F.S. was a Venezuelan physician and active member of the Third Order of Saint Francis. Born in Isnotú, Trujillo State, he became a highly renowned doctor, more so after his death. Known for his many acts of charity for the poor of his society and his dedicated life of faith, he was beatified by the Catholic Church in 2021 by Pope Francis, who later approved his canonization in early 2025. He was canonized by Pope Leo XIV on 19 October 2025, one of the first two citizens of that nation to be so recognized by the Catholic Church.

    Carlos Andrés Pérez Rodríguez, also known by his initials CAP and often referred to as El Gocho (due to his Andean origins), was a Venezuelan politician who served as the 47th and 50th president of Venezuela from 1974 to 1979 and again from 1989 to 1993. He was one of the founders of Acción Democrática, the dominant political party in Venezuela during the second half of the twentieth century.
