    Biography

    Ahmad Alhendawi is a Jordanian public administrator and a former United Nations official who served as the Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) from March 2017 until October 2024, making him the youngest person to hold this position in the 117-year history of the organization. Prior to this, he was the first-ever United Nations Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth, appointed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations on January 17, 2013. In this role, he supported UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in addressing his thematic priority of working with and for young people as part of his Five-Year Action Agenda.
