    Biography

    Lucas Ignacio Alamán y Escalada was a Mexican scientist, conservative statesman, historian, and writer. He came from an elite Guanajuato family and was well-traveled and highly educated. He was an eyewitness to the early fighting in the Mexican War of Independence when he witnessed the troops of insurgent leader Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla sack Guanajuato City, an incident that informed his already conservative and antidemocratic thought.

    Norma Esther Andrade is one of the founding members of Nuestras Hijas de Regreso a Casa A.C., a Mexican non-profit association of mothers whose daughters have been victims of female homicides in Ciudad Juárez. Her daughter, Lilia Alejandra García Andrade, disappeared on February 14, 2001. On February 21, Lilia Alejandra's body was found wrapped in a blanket. On her body were signs of physical and sexual assault.

    Javier González Mocken was a Mexican lawyer, politician, academic, and member of the National Action Party (PAN). González served as the interim Municipal President of Ciudad Juárez, (or mayor of Ciudad Juárez), from 2015 until 2016. In April 2024, he was appointed the head of the Chihuahua State Human Rights Commission (CEDH) by the Congress of Chihuahua. He was also the director of the Institute of Social Sciences and Administration of the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez at the time of his death in 2024.
