    Biography

    Gustavo Gutiérrez-Merino Díaz OP was a Peruvian Catholic philosopher, theologian, and Dominican priest who was one of the founders of Latin American liberation theology. His 1971 book A Theology of Liberation is considered pivotal to the formation of liberation theology at large. He held the John Cardinal O'Hara Professorship of Theology at the University of Notre Dame and was a visiting professor at universities in North America and Europe.

    Laurent Bernard Marie Ulrich is a French Catholic prelate who has served as Archbishop of Paris since 2022. He was previously Archbishop of Lille from 2008 to 2022 and Archbishop of Chambéry–Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne–Tarentaise from 2000 to 2008. He was vice president of the Bishops' Conference of France from 2007 to 2013.

    Christian Wiyghan Tumi was a Cameroonian prelate of the Catholic Church who was archbishop of Douala from 1991 to 2009. He was bishop of Yagoua from 1980 to 1982. After serving as coadjutor bishop of Garoua beginning in 1982, he was bishop there from 1984 to 1991. He was made a cardinal 1988. Tumi was the first and so far the only cardinal from Cameroon.
