She won the bronze medal at the 2016 World Indoor Championships and is the 2020 US Olympic Trials champion in the women's 400 m. She has earned several gold medals for the United States in the 4 × 400 m relay, including at the World Championships and World Relays in 2017, as well as the World Indoor Championships in 2016 and 2018. A 400m 2021 Diamond League champion.

John Robert Edward Kinard was an American social activist, pastor, and museum director. He is best known as the director of the Anacostia Museum, a small community museum founded by the Smithsonian Institution in 1967. Kinard was the museum's first director, and remained in the post until his death. The Washington Post said Kinard was "a passionate believer in the idea that the well-being of black people depends on having a record of their past". Noted British archeologist and museologist Sir Kenneth Hudson said Kinard "developed the Anacostia Museum into one of the small number of museums of influence in the world."

Young, Jr. Professor Emeritus at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was the first African American tenured professor, and the first to be awarded an endowed chair, the Whitney M Young,jr chair. He was Assistant Secretary of Labor during the Clinton Administration, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Tuskegee University. He was awarded the Samuel Z. Westerfield Award by the National Economic Association in 2003. He was also awarded the 2016 Living Legacy Award from the Philadelphia-based Urban Affairs Coalition. and the 2022 Labor and Employment Relations Association Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award.

Jeremiah Daniel Baltimore was an engineer and educator in Washington, D.C. For many years, he was an engineer in the service of the United States Navy and served as chief engineer at the Freedmen's Hospital. He was also a teacher of mechanics, and was responsible for mechanical instruction in the African American schools in the city from 1890 to 1922. He was on the trial board of the Naval battleship USS Texas (1892) and was among the organizers and officers of the Potomac Hospital and Training School. In 1903 he was elected a member of the Franklin Institute of Philadelphia. In 1915, he was made member of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Art, Manufactures, and Commerce of London.
