İrem Karamete is a Turkish fencer who competed in the foil event at the 2016 Summer Olympics, coming in 27th. Her mother, Nili Drori, fenced for Israel in the 1976 and 1984 Olympics, and won a team foil bronze medal in the 1974 Asian Games. Karamete won the Turkish Championship 10 times between 2011 and 2019, and won a bronze medal in the women's individual foil event at the 2022 Mediterranean Games. Karamete was the first Turkish fencer to qualify for the Olympics since 1984.
