Fang Fang, pen name of Wang Fang (汪芳; born 11 May 1955), is a Chinese writer, known for her literary depictions of the working poor. She won the Lu Xun Literary Prize in 2010. Born in Nanjing, she attended Wuhan University in 1978 to study Chinese. In 1975, she began to write poetry and in 1982, her first novel was published. She has since written several novels, some of which have been honored by Chinese national-level literary prizes. Fang garnered international attention for her Wuhan Diary, documenting the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic in China, and has used her platform to call for an end to internet censorship in China.

Jian Bozan was a Chinese scholar and Marxist historian of Uyghur descent. Born in Taoyuan County, Hunan Province, Jian became an early supporter of the Chinese Communist Party. From 1952 to his death, he was Vice President of Peking University. Like many authoritative academic figures of his generation, he was persecuted during the Cultural Revolution over a perceived divergence between his own ideas and that of dominant Maoist orthodoxy of the time. Unable to bear torture, Jian committed suicide in 1968.

Li Hanjun was an alternate member of the 3rd Central Executive Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. He was the younger brother of Li Shucheng. Born in Hubei Province, he studied abroad in Japan from 1902 to 1918, graduating from University of Tokyo. He was fluent in Japanese, English, French and German. Although a founding member of the Chinese Communist Party, he later left the party after coming into conflict with Zhang Guotao and joined the Kuomintang. An opponent of Chiang Kai-shek's anti-Communist campaign, he fled to the Japanese concession in Hankou when Chiang's supporters entered Wuhan in November 1927. He was captured by the New Guangxi clique and murdered.
