    Biography

    Liang Qichao was a Chinese social and political activist, journalist, and intellectual who lived during the late Qing dynasty and the early Republic of China. His thought had a significant influence on the political reformation of modern China. He inspired Chinese scholars and activists with his writings and reform movements. His translations of Western and Japanese books into Chinese introduced new theories and ideas and inspired young activists.

    Biography

    Yuan Tseh Lee is a Taiwanese chemist and a Professor Emeritus at the University of California, Berkeley. He was the fourth Taiwanese Nobel Prize laureate who, along with the Hungarian-Canadian John C. Polanyi and American Dudley R. Herschbach, won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1986 "for their contributions to the dynamics of chemical elementary processes".

    Chen Shu-chu is a vegetable vendor and philanthropist from Taitung County, Taiwan. She gives generously with her modest incomes. She said "Money serves its purpose only when it is used for those who need it and always be happy when she helped others." She was selected as one of the Time 100 for year 2010 in the Heroes category. She is also one of the 48 heroes of Philanthropy by Forbes Asia. Reader's Digest also honors her as the winner of 2010 Asian of the year. In 2012, she also was selected as one of the Ramon Magsaysay Award winners. In 2018, 278986 Chenshuchu was named for her.

    Lin Ying-meng is a Taiwanese politician. She has served as a councillor of Taipei City Council since 2018. She was elected councillor representing Taipei City District 6 during the local elections, and is one of the first openly LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) people voted into local legislatures in Taiwanese history.
