    Mark Andrew Green is an American politician and diplomat. He served as president and CEO of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars from March 15, 2021 to April 1, 2025. Previously he was executive director of the McCain Institute for International Leadership and Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development. He served in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1993 to 1999, was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from 1999 to 2007, representing Wisconsin's 8th congressional district, ran unsuccessfully for governor of Wisconsin in 2006, and held the post of United States Ambassador to Tanzania from August 2007 until January 2009. Green served as president of the International Republican Institute from 2014 to 2017 and sits on the board of directors of the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
