Paul Frederic Simon is an American singer-songwriter known both for his solo work and his collaboration with Art Garfunkel. He and his school friend Garfunkel, whom he met in 1956, came to prominence in the 1960s as Simon & Garfunkel. Their blend of folk and rock, including hits such as "The Sound of Silence", "Mrs. Robinson", "America" and "The Boxer", served as a soundtrack to the counterculture movement. Their final album before disbanding, Bridge Over Troubled Water (1970), is among the bestselling of all time. In his solo career, Simon explored genres including gospel, reggae and soul. His 1970s output, comprising Paul Simon (1972), There Goes Rhymin' Simon (1973), and Still Crazy After All These Years (1975), kept him in the public eye and drew acclaim, producing the hits "Mother and Child Reunion", "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard", and "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover". John Thomas Mateer, also known as Johnny Saint Marks, is an American musician, filmmaker, and entertainment entrepreneur. He grew up in Wantagh, New York. Mateer was an early-era content creator on YouTube in the late 2000s, and his first media appearances resulted from the viral content that he created on the platform. Shifting his focus towards music at the beginning of the 2010s, Mateer released his first extended play, Love is Not a Lifestyle, in the summer of 2011. Mateer's entrepreneurial endeavors include the founding and operation of the post-production company, RIOT MOTION LLC and the nonprofit organization, Empathy Always Corp, which provides relief to victims of narcissistic abuse. Lisa Gutkin is an American violinist, singer and songwriter of The Klezmatics. She played in Sting's The Last Ship, had a cameo appearance in “Sex and the City,” and is a MacDowell Fellow at the MacDowell Colony. Edward John Ray is an American economist who became the 14th president of Oregon State University on July 31, 2003. Prior to joining Oregon State, Ray was executive vice president and provost of Ohio State University for the previous six years.
