Adrienne Eadie Adams is an American politician from the state of New York. A Democrat, Adams represented the 28th district in the New York City Council from 2017 to 2025 and served as speaker of the City Council from 2022 until 2025. She is the first woman to represent District 28 on the City Council and is the first Black person to serve as speaker of the New York City Council.
