Chen Pokong, also known as Jinsong Chen (Chinese: 陳勁松), is a Chinese-American columnist, political commentator, author, television pundit and YouTuber. Wang Shu is a Chinese architect based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. He is the dean of the School of Architecture of the China Academy of Art. With his practice partner and wife Lu Wenyu, he founded the firm Amateur Architecture Studio. In 2012, Wang became the first Chinese citizen to win the Pritzker Prize, the world's top prize in architecture. The award was the subject of some controversy since the Pritzker committee did not also award Lu Wenyu, his wife and architectural partner, despite their years of collaboration.

Wu Changshun is the former police chief of the municipality of Tianjin, China. Wu is also an inventor, and has 35 patents and utility models to his credit. Wu spent 44 years working for the Tianjin Public Security Bureau (i.e. police force) and was the chief of the police force for some eleven years. Wu was dismissed from office in July 2014, and was placed under investigation by the Communist Party's anti-corruption agency. He was expelled from the party in February 2015.

He was formerly the head of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China. He initially held several lower positions in the Ministry of Railways, and moved up the ranks starting in 2000. Sheng was also a member of the 17th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.

Zhu Jiahua or Chu Chia-hua was a Chinese scientist, geologist and Kuomintang politician in the Republic of China. In the early 1930s he served as Minister of Communications for the Nationalist Government in Nanjing. He was the Vice Premier in 1949–1950. Zhu became acting president of Academia Sinica upon the death of Cai Yuanpei in 1940, and was responsible for organizing the relocation of its institutes from China to Taiwan during the Chinese Civil War and a period of low monetary funds. Zhu repurposed funds originally set aside for Chinese students to study abroad. Although the Kuomintang government agreed with Zhu's actions when he first proposed them, Chiang Kai-shek later withdrew his approval and Zhu resigned as president of the Academia Sinica in 1957. Zhu was elected an academician of Academia Sinica in 1948. Following his death, Academia Sinica began hosting a lecture series in Zhu's honor.

Qian Xinzhong was the Minister of Health (1965–1973, 1979–1982) and chairman of the National Family Planning Commission (NFPC, May 1982 - December 1983) of the People's Republic of China. As chairman of the NFPC, he made and enforced the policy of "IUD after first birth, sterilization after second birth". According to official statistics, a record number of birth control surgeries were performed in China in 1983, including 17.8 million IUD placements, 16.4 million tubal ligations, 4.3 million vasectomies, and 14.4 million induced abortions.

Li Linsi; birth name Li Jiaxiang (厉家祥), was a modern Chinese educator, diplomat and scholar, who has been recognized as one of the key figures in modern Chinese cultural and diplomatic history. Hailed as China's Mahatma Gandhi, Li was the leader of China's nonviolent resistance against Japanese aggression. His military research contributed greatly to China's anti-Japanese war. He was known for his efforts to save hundreds of Jews fleeing to Shanghai during World War II. A diplomatic consultant to Chiang Kai-shek, Li was a key facilitator of the China-Germany relationship during the 1930s, and a major proponent of China's League of Nations diplomacy. He was a co-founder of some of China's most influential organizations, including the China branch of the United Nations and China Institute of World Cultural Cooperation at the League of Nations. Being reputed as a human bridge connecting Chinese and European cultures, Li made a great contribution to helping the West comprehend ancient Chinese philosophies, and introduced many Western progressive thoughts to China. A descendant of Jiang Ziya, the Chinese legendary founding prime minister during the Zhou dynasty, Li was the fourth great-grandson of Li E, a leader of the Qing dynasty poetry. His eldest son is Li Shengjiao, a noted Chinese diplomat and jurist. Li died in Shanghai during the Cultural Revolution.
