Alan Kooi Simpson was an American politician from Wyoming. A member of the Republican Party, he served as a member of the Wyoming House of Representatives representing Park County, Wyoming from 1965 to 1977 and as a member of the United States Senate from 1979 to 1997. Gerald Leonard Spence was an American trial lawyer and author. He was a member of the Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame and was the founder of the Trial Lawyers College. Spence never lost a criminal trial before a jury, either as a prosecutor or a defense attorney, and did not lose a civil trial after 1969, although several verdicts were overturned on appeal. He is considered one of the greatest lawyers of the 20th century, and among the best trial lawyers ever. He has been described by legal scholar Richard Falk as a "lawyer par excellence". The New York Times said that "in the tradition of Perry Mason, he seemed unbeatable."

Dennis Shepard is the father of Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old student at University of Wyoming who was murdered in October 1998 in what became one of the most high-profile hate crimes against LGBTQ people in the United States. He and his wife, Judy Shepard, are co-founders of the Matthew Shepard Foundation, and advocate for LGBT rights. He has been an advocate for parental support of LGBTQ children both during Matthew's life and, very publicly, since Matthew's death. He and Judy continue to live and work in Casper.

Craig Lyle Thomas was an American politician who served as United States senator from Wyoming from 1995 until his death in 2007. He was a member of the Republican Party. In the Senate, Thomas was considered an expert on agriculture and rural development. He was also a county commissioner in Jackson, the seat of Teton County in northwestern Wyoming. Douglas W. Owsley is an American anthropologist who is the curator of Biological Anthropology at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History (NMNH). He is a respected and well-known forensic anthropologist and archaeologist who has been involved in several high-profile investigations. In September 2001, he provided scientific analysis at the military mortuary located at Dover Air Force Base, following the 9/11 attack in Washington, D.C. The following year, the US Department of Defense honored him with the Commander's Award for Civilian Service for helping in the identification of 60 federal and civilian victims who died when American Airlines Flight 77 hit the Pentagon.

Floyd Elgin Dominy was appointed commissioner of the United States Bureau of Reclamation from May 1, 1959, to December 1, 1969, by Dwight D. Eisenhower. Dominy joined the Bureau in 1946. He was the assistant commissioner from 1957 to 1958. He was responsible for building Glen Canyon Dam and the creation of Lake Powell behind it. He died in Boyce, Virginia, where he had lived since at least 1990.

June Etta Downey was an American psychologist who studied personality and handwriting. Downey was born and raised in Laramie, Wyoming, where she received her degree in Greek and Latin from the University of Wyoming. John A. Pilch was an American basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Wyoming Cowboys from 1947 to 1950. During that time, he was Wyoming's leading scorer. In his senior season, Pilch averaged 11.5 points per game and was selected as an All-American basketball player. John was drafted in the second round of the 1950 NBA draft by the Baltimore Bullets. He played in one NBA season with the Minneapolis Lakers, 0.6 points and 1 rebound per game. In 1999, John was posthumously inducted into the University of Wyoming Athletics Hall of Fame.
